I enjoyed using the clay medium. In this project, I created a small container for bobby pins, paper clips, or change. I painted it black with polka dots so I could include many colors and the polka dots would stand out over the black background. An extension activity I could use with this project would be to include it in another Art project done in the spring. I would use it as a vase, and have students trace their hands on paper, then roll the fingers with pencils to create a tulip-shaped flower. These flowers then would go in a vase to be given to someone special.
